New Home Construction up 6.8% in May / Matt Hermes - Keller Williams Realty

New Home Construction up 6.8% in May according (Matt Hermes - Keller Williams Realty) to the latest figures from the Commerce Department.  While this is great news for the new home industry it can and in my opinion, will cause the current rate of home price appreciation to flatten in Metro Atlanta.

Matt Hermes with Keller Williams Realty and the Builder Trade In Program says that "With the low inventory of homes currently available and the current numbers of Buyers in the market, Atlanta has seen price increases that will flatten once new home construction starts to catch up with the demand.  As the new homes come on the market, the current inventory levels will start to level out and when this happens the price increases we are seeing will level off as well. New home construction has been caught a little bit behind the 8-ball and builders are trying to catch up with the demand for homes. Once this happens new home sales will take off." according to Hermes.  The Builder Trade Program is a national organization that has been helping Buyers, Sellers and Home Builders for over 35 years.

Our Builder Trade In Program (BTIP) is designed to help homeowners who would like to purchase a New Construction home but have a home to sell. The BTIP is designed to specifically work with new home builders and those looking to buy new homes solve the problem of selling a existing home prior to purchasing.  With a three tier approach to removing any type of contingency on the sale of a existing home the BTIP is the number on resource for new home Buyers.

"This unique system allows both the Builder and Buyer to work together to come up with a solution to either sell or lease a current home in order to be able to move right into a brand new home" Hermes stated. The BTIP currently is working with a number of local home builders to bring this opportunity to the general public. Builders such as Chafin Home Builders and Acadia homes have joined with the BTIP to make new homes available to those who are looking to buy new construction.
